At Kippax Greenfield, we believe in the power of a close-knit community and the benefits of a small, supportive environment. Our strength is in our size; we admit just twenty children into our school each year which allows every adult in our school to know every child (and vice versa) and every child to feel both valued and heard.
Our mixed-ability class structure fosters an environment where our younger children can find inspiration in the achievements of their older classmates but which also allows our older children to stretch their knowledge by supporting others.
We take pride in our ambitious curriculum which has been deliberately designed with our mixed-age structure in mind in order to cater for the specific requirements of each age group. We understand that children progress at different rates and our curriculum reflects this by offering a flexible and responsive approach to learning. Our teachers skillfully navigate this mixed-age approach to learning, tailoring their instruction to address the specific needs of individual learners. This not only ensures that every child receives a curriculum which is aspirational for all learners but also fosters an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration, where students of different ages work together to reach their goals.
As one child told our Ofsted inspectors in March 2023, “we may be small, but we are great”.
