Medicines In School
Kippax Greenfield Primary School is an inclusive school. Our ‘Managing Medicines’ policy sets out the steps we take to ensure full access to learning for all our children who have medical needs and are able to attend school.
Wherever possible, we encourage the administration of medicine to be done at home. There are, however, some situations, usually where prescriptions have been written by the doctor, where we will need to administer medicines in school. For this to happen, we require a completed Medical Administration Form. Please contact us for a form.
Medicines should always be provided in the original container. Staff never give a non-prescribed medicine to a child unless there is specific prior written permission from the parents/carers.
